Cycling Through Bakestonedale
A dramatic into-the-light f22 shot of the landscape adjacent to Bakestonedale Road near Pott Shrigley. This was taken on one of my moody long distance bike rides also know as 'intercountynental' trips that take me out of Cheshire and into the glorious surroundings of the north western edge of Derbyshire and the peaks. Yesterdays trip was very cold at the summit of Bakestonedale Road which is approx 1000ft above sea level but conditions gradually warmed up as I dropped down into Whaley Bridge.
The return journey was via the familiar A6 route which is almost soothingly flat for the entire trip home. Quite nice to cruise along in top gear after the heavy climbing of Bakestondale Road - last leg is via the good old Middlewood Way.
