Winnats Pass

The very dramatic setting of Winnats Pass near Castleton, Derbyshire. A fantastic day of cycling and photographing in the fascinating landscape of the Peak District. Generally I prefer to work with landscape in monochrome, I think it can often produce a more dramatic image and especially in certain lighting or weather conditions - mist and fog is always interesting in that respect. The jagged edges of the hills and the strong contrast with (over exposed) sky just worked so much better in black and white.
